M. J. Coss is the author of the Phyllis Doran cozy mystery series, blending atmospheric settings, clever puzzles, and character-driven storytelling into mysteries filled with intrigue and discovery. His debut novella, Across and Down in the Desert, introduces retired archaeologist Phyllis Doran as she uncovers hidden clues and long-buried secrets in the Arizona desert.

Outside of writing, Mike enjoys history, exploration, and crafting stories that invite readers to slow down, follow the clues, and immerse themselves in richly layered settings. He lives in Northeast Ohio with his wife Patti, son Caleb, and their dog Lexi.
